Or use gold-filled sterling or base metal wire to fashion components that complement your designs.

We have some lovely charms and lampwork beads but our favourites have to be the Miyuki Mascot sets – who could resist the cheeky santa or the cute snowman. They would make excellent gifts, either already made up into little phone charms or as they are for a beading friend.

Each of these Venetian style glass beads is hollow, giving them a distinctive look that is perfect for the focal point of your next piece of jewellery.

The beads are handblown which means actual air was blown into the bead to form a bubble, unlike traditional lampwork beads which are worked by hand on a torch. Handblown beads provide the impact of size without any of the weight.

While you might expect them to be delicate and easy to break, they are actually very strong and resilient.
